Siem Reap, Cambodia, July 17, 2026. ByteDC Solutions Co., Ltd. took the stage as a keynote speaker at the Lancang-Mekong Regional Cybersecurity Forum, held July 15 to 17 at the J7 Angkor Hotel in Siem Reap. The forum was organized by Cambodia's Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications (MPTC) with support from the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Special Fund, and drew around 30 officials and cybersecurity professionals from Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam.

H.E. Ung Sokoudom, Advisor to MPTC, presided over the opening ceremony and called for "joint regional efforts and mutual trust" in addressing cyber threats across the Mekong region. ByteDC, Cambodia's first Tier III-certified data center and sovereign cloud provider, was invited to speak alongside government delegations from the four countries.

ByteDC's Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Erya Houn Heng, delivered the Keynote session, "Securing the Digital Backbone." His argument was straightforward: the physical and cloud infrastructure layer is what every other digital service in a country runs on, so if that layer fails, everything built on top of it fails with it.

Mr. Erya walked the audience through the threats currently facing the region's infrastructure, from single points of failure and supply chain vulnerabilities to ransomware that targets hypervisors and backup systems first, and identity-based attacks aimed at privileged cloud accounts. He then laid out a six-layer framework for building cyber resilience: physical and environmental security, network and perimeter defense, compute and virtualization hardening, identity and access controls, data protection and recovery, and continuous detection, response, and governance.

He closed with three specific proposals for regional cooperation: a shared threat-sharing channel connecting national CERTs with infrastructure operators, common baseline security standards for data centers and cloud services that host government workloads, and annual cross-border incident response exercises. His final slide put the point plainly: a Mekong region built on trust starts with infrastructure that holds up under pressure.

ByteDC said it will take part in national threat-sharing efforts, host cybersecurity workshops, and support the training of local cybersecurity talent in the months ahead.
